From Club Sailor to Club Captain

Dear Patch,

Being in Patch Club as a child, I don’t think I realized and understood the impact that it had on me. Everything from the verses that we would memorize, to the devotions, to the songs that we would learn have helped shape the person I have become. Some of the verses have been my “go to” verses in the time of need. I find myself humming or singing songs that I learned in Patch Club to this day. Also, having the opportunity to play the piano for Patch Club is something not many freshmen in high school get to do. I was able to play for a children’s choir in church! That opportunity helped sharpen my skills and allowed me to impact the next group of kids coming up behind me. I will be forever grateful for the years that I was involved with Patch Club! “Ahoy sailors!” “Ahoy Captain!”

Christiane Emory

A Note From the Editor
Christiane Emory

My years serving in Patch Club at Majesty Music were not just a job—they were a calling that formed the very fabric of my life. For decades, I have had the privilege of serving as producer and editor, as well as a contributing author, of the children’s music theory lessons, Bible lessons, devotions, and children’s plays—helping create resources grounded in enduring biblical truth for young hearts. What began as an outreach to children became, in God’s tender mercy, deeply personal work in my own life. Many times the very truths I was preparing brought tears to my eyes as Scripture poured over me—refining and strengthening my faith. Day after day, those truths settled deep and have been faithfully shaping me—still refining, still teaching, still drawing me closer to Him.

Even now, as I continue writing children’s “quiet time” devotions built around godly songs, my desire is not only to teach truth, but to live it—to be a faithful testimony of what a godly lady should look like. Since my husband went home to be with the Lord a short time ago, I have felt even more deeply my need for constant wisdom and strength. Yet through every season, God has remained faithful. What a gift it has been to spend decades immersed in His Word, allowing it to transform both my service and my heart.
